Little Sean

Today our little cousin Sean is undergoing a pretty intense surgery at Texas Childrens to remove a Wilms tumor along with his kidney. After receiving the shock of their life, his parents and the rest of the family are keeping this very brave little boy in all of our thoughts and prayers. When we went to visit yesterday we were able to listen in while the surgeon broke down a bit of what the surgery would entail and I was completely blown away by how smart and truly amazing people can be. It's altogether awe-inspiring and unbelievable how advanced the technology is and how skilled these doctors are. You couldn't ask for more.

We are waiting very anxiously for any news from the hospital and we will all let out a big sigh of relief when we know that he is safe and sound. It will be a long road for him - 7 to 10 days in the hospital for recovery and then going straight into chemo and radiation - but he has parents that go above and beyond to take care of him and love him deeply. He is in great hands now and I have no doubt that he is going to make a full recovery.

In the meantime, we are going to be spending quite a bit of time with his two younger brothers while he is in the hospital and the kids couldn't be happier about it. If you get a minute, send some prayers Sean's way and I will be sure to update as soon as I hear more. I have a feeling that Sean is going to be our little good luck charm this year.
